Is the Nikkor AF 50mm F 1.4 when used with the Nikon D60?

My friend has the Nikon D40 and told me that the Nikkor 50mm F 1.4 lens does'nt Auto Focus is like supposed. I wonder if anyone using the Nikon D60 is having the same problem or not.
