Nikon D40 18-135mm lens. In automatic mode, the non-self-centeredness.
Review AF switches on the sides of the lens and camera mount (two). If it is set to "M", switch to "AF". I turned off the AF in my cameras and lenses for special situations and sometimes they forgot to swtich back to AF. Hope this is helpful.
