18 200 vr nikkor lens
I have the Nikkor 18-200 VR lens. What are the use of filters, and I need one? What?

I heard some ppl use filters to protect the lens .. lol

Filter change light, and therefore took the photo. Back in the day, you have to filter your lens based on the source of light, the kind of movie special effects, etc. However, today with digital photography (And Tools white balance), which is rarely needed filter based on the source of light. In terms of special effects, all but one can be duplicated in Photoshop: polarization. The only filter you really need to buy is the circular polarizer, and if you ever need it. Most people buy $ 15 UV or skylight to put in your lenses $ 1000 to "protect" them. 99% of the time, the filter does more harm than good. How good do you think a $ 15 filter, quality wise? I think it can affect light in a bad way? I've known people who have hated target, thought it was crap, only to discover that when you remove the filters, the photos were much, much better. Instead, just make sure I use my umbrellas. Protect the front element from accidental knocks and have the added benefit of keeping out of the shaft of light to cause effects Torch (straining seems to amplify!). And if you find a hardtop and it breaks, do not suddenly have sharp shards of glass hit your target or as a filter! Now, I'll buy a decent UV filter for "protection" when shooting in areas with abrasive particles in the air (including sand beaches) salt fog / mist, or other things in which something might get in the lens that may prevent further damage.
