how to upgrade my dell computer and download pictures to it?
i have a dell inspiron 2500 with windows millenium… everytime i try to put windows 98 on it, it wont let me…. the computer works fine and i have the internet but i have a nikon coolpix camera and when i take the usb cord to download my pictures to picture project onto my computer it wont let me…any suggestions?? or answers??thank you
You can buy a card reader – that you can plug into the USB port of your computer. You take the memory card out of your camera – and plug it into the card reader.
Then, you can copy your photo files from the memory card onto the computer.
It’s a step or two more than the automatic camera recognition software – but it does the same thing – and likely won’t involve updating operating systems or other drastic measures.
Many cameras also have a mode in which the camera will appear to the computer as an external drive – instead of as a camera. Read your user’s manual. If you do that – your computer might recognize it as an external drive – and you can copy the photo files directly, just as you would with a card reader.
