Need help with the choice of lens for Nikon!?
Hello, I recently bought a nikon d3000 with 18-55VR and 55-200 kit lenses. Want to look toward a goal, or perhaps a macro. I like the 50mm f1.8 and 35mm f2.8, but I'm not sure about the differences between them. Any ideas or thoughts which can give is welcome. (my price range is anywhere up to $ 250-300. Thanks in advance. Edit: I typo'd of 35 mm, which is supposed to be f1.8
None of these lenses are provided autofocus camera, they will work – but as a manual focus lenses. The nikon 50mm f/1.8D is one of the best and least expensive lenses First, quick money, and I've never heard of a Nikon 35mm f/2.8, but Nikon has a 35mm f/2D – both great lenses, but I would see little in getting the lens, but could not use the autofocus. Believe me, the focusing screen of the camera is not optimized to provide enough of a matt surface to judge by the approach of the eyes. Cameras such as yours are designed to autofocus. I've heard people who swear by the focus manually on the amateur / prosumer digital SLR as the D40, D60, D3000 and likes, but overall, it's a bunch of bull! I have 20/20 vision and I can not see Focus to save my life – Certainly, I feel it, but who wants a nearly focused image? When manual focus is how we focus, the cameras were bright, full image viewer and a matte screens split image rangefinder for focusing nails perfectly. The new cameras not more expensive pro / semi-pro cameras have interchangeable focusing screens, you have to pay extra. Not worth the effort or problems. You should consider either the AF-S 50mm f/1.4G (almost U.S. $ 500 – provides a short telephoto field of view), or the just-as-good if not better 35mm f/1.8G AF-S DX ($ 199 – offers a normal field of view). I recommend the 35, is cheaper and offer full compatibility approach automatic with your camera. (the best lens for the money) http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-35mm-AF-S-Digital-Cameras/dp/B001S2PPT0
