400mm f2.8 nikon
What is the best lens for sports, portraits, animals, and generally the best lens for the dollar.?

Hello out of these four objectives, which is best for (eg sports racing power boats, cars, drag, etc, football, fast action, animals, etc. ..) I want sharp pictures. Will the tripod someof the time, but especially by hand, and basically what is best for the buck … The good and bad of all, you're in a Nikon D90. Lenses are …. Sigma APO 70-200mm f2.8 EX DG MACRO HSM Lens or Sigma 150-500mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM lens for Nikon or Sigma 50-500mm f/4-6.3 APO EX DG HSM (filter diameter or 86mm Sigma Lens 120-400mm f/4.5-5.6 APO DG OS HSM. So if someone says I have these four, you can have one, what would it be and why?. Thanks for all the comments.

Go Tokina over Sigma. Tokina lenses are more solid in build quality, and have the same feeling as a Nikon lens. For the price the Sigma 70-200 you can get a used Nikon 80-200 2.8 D, not the AF-S. The Tokina 100-300 F4 lens is a really solid, you find that one. Here is a picture taken with the Tokina 100-300: http://cgipix.com/Portfolio_Wildlife_Pronghorn_Antelopes_Nature_Photography.htm
