best all round lens for Nikon D80?

Hi all, I bought a Nikon D80 body. I put one of the best set of lenses to take impressive clear pictures of the cam. I have searched 50mm f/1.8 prime lens, 60mm f/2.8 micro. I want to know is there anything better than this lens that can function as all-terrain for taking portraits, landscapes, family photos and some images of small insects and flowers. Celta I can take very small insects from the primary objective of 50 mm was done with 60mm micro. Only if I can do then you may opt out from working on even larger opening so it would be good for light, even low image. Or people or suggest something better than that … Zoom some good option too .. please help me to choose best lens. Since a moment I can not invest in Hugh cam body and lens. I want to add good lens kits as I go along slowly my photographic skills. Thanks to all ..

I agree w / FhotoAce. Best of all is probably the VR 18-200mm, which is what I'm using right now. For a first super fast, I just changed my main 50mm f/1.8 35mm f/1.8 a new one. "I feel like everything in doors, 35 mm is a little more useful than 50 mm. The 18-200mm VR is susceptible to distortion however. As with any lens that will always a compromise. If you are looking for clarity, then I recommend the 18-135mm. This lens is sharp as a tactic, but the negative course is that no virtual reality there are problems with the fall of light, as well as distortion. If the 18-200mm VR is out of your price range, I recommend the 18-105mm VR. It is very similar to 18-135mm VR but adds. Of course they are losing 30 mm zoom, but I think by the end of virtual reality is probably more useful than 30 mm. I also recommend the 18-70mm too. This lens is probably the best kit lens that Nikon has built. If you can find a good example clean break. The image quality, is a capacity exceeding two and 18-135mm VR 18-105mm.
