Nikon D40 With 300 mm non-lens AF-S 70?
Hi I have a Nikon D40 and am thinking of buying a new lens. I'm looking at the Nikon AF ED Nikkor 70-300mm f/4-5.6D but due to the fact that my D40 requires AF-S i was wondering if the goal really fit and work. Autofocus is not a problem and I know it will not work with this camera, but if I use manual focus the lens of my camera work??
Yes it works. You will be surprised to know that can be used for confirmation to approach this goal, too. In the D40 manual: "If the lens has a maximum aperture of f/5.6 of faster (this objective does), the indicator focus the viewer can be used to confirm whether the portion of the material in the selected focus area is in focus. After placing the issue on the active focus area, press the shutter button halfway and turn the lens focus ring until the focus indicator on the screen. "I know how easy it is for me to spend YOUR money, but think about spending another $ 180 for the new 70-300 VR lens. I have this for a couple of weeks and it's awesome. I think a LITTLE BIT falls all the way to 300 mm, but generally is a very strong color lens without aberration or too little. Http://www.flickr.com/photos/samfeinstein/ go to my Flickr site and click on "Labels." Then click on "70300" and is some pictures taken with this objective. Click "All sizes" and then "Original" and judge for yourself. The three pictures are in the full 300 mm, where I do not think the lens is at its best, but judge for yourself. There is another small part of the "focal" tutorial. Can be accessed by Click "focallength" of tags, but the image is too small to really evaluate the objective, and materialized down the entire compound.
