Why does Canon and Nikon are good entry level digital SLR ice maker?

I read a lot that Canon and Nikon are good entry level digital SLR manufacturer. Why Sony, Olympus, etc. are not? The lack of features? Picture quality? Ease of use? Please be specific. Thank you. Thanks everyone!

Nikon and Canon have the largest market share and photographers tend to be loyal to the cameras that have been using. So more photographers will recommend what they have and feel comfortable. These two companies have a track record longer lasting, quality cameras. They tend to be at the forefront of technological advances (But one of the less talked about now and then wow the market with something new and large). Nikon and Canon have been face to face in a race for the best clarity, quality and color. This does not mean Sony, Olympus, Pentax, Fuji and other companies in the digital SLR camera does not make good entry level, they do. I think Sony bought Minolta when they arrived in the chambers. Minolta made good cameras for years and the new Sony camera is getting good reviews in magazines. I know several owners who have a Fuji Nikon by camera roll since they can use the same lenses on both. So as I said before your product loyalty above all a company has to guarantee good things in the past. I am a Nikon man from the 70s before I had a Pentax. I have many friends who use other brands and take pictures as good or better than mine. Yes both as I hate to admit some are even canon owners ~ ~ lol (JK have a friendly rivalry in the camera club I'm between Canon and Nikon owners)
