D5000 Nikon or Canon Rebel XSi?

I'm getting a new camera, and I was thinking of getting the Nikon D5000, but then I found the XSi Canon is cheaper, but I want what works best. (And has the best image quality and focus) If you have a Canon or Nikon, and have expirence with these cameras, or simply know what is best please help me decide. Oh, and I like to take the macro, bokeh, and portraits. :) Thanks.

I went with the Nikon D5000 and one of the reasons is that this is a newer model and I think it has advantages because of this with higher performance features such as ISO, and high definition video. Then shows a link to a website in the DxO Labs Web site that shows a comparison of performance of the sensors from the two types of cameras and Nikon D5000 superior. I hope this will help.
