Why are my RAW photos washed, using a Nikon D80?

Why is it that when I shoot, download (using iPhoto) and see my pictures in RAW are perfectly fine. However, once you post on the Internet, almost 96% of the time to look washed out? Is this a problem with the D80 convert iPhoto RAW files to JPG? its very frustrating! I also find that this is the case when printed publication for my school. heres a link to my multiply reference: http://antoniovillalon.multiply.com/ Anyone with experience in this and / or responses will be greatly appreciated! and also, this is the case, when shooting in RAW with a Nikon D90?

The proof is in the print or monitor calibration. What probably happened is that the website will upload your images to which you are making other changes size and massage to your images to make space then more efficient. That is a very common practice. This "massage" affect everything from gamma to color and apparent sharpness.
