Canon G12, Lumix LX5 or lumix g2?

hello, my current camera is a Nikon Coolpix P60. My goal is to get a digital SLR camera day, but now I'm advanced compact, seeing that I go to a companion anyway with my digital SLR as needed for quick use and portability. [BC and we still have much to learn when it comes to photography.] PREFERENCES: i do not really care about size and my budget is around $ 500. I care especially HD video and be able to take pictures of fashion models in a small shop. OPTIONS: A teacher of mine suggested that the G12 and Canon has reviews impressive. I saw that most people liked the specs on the Lumix LX5 G12. but I also realized that the micro 4 / 3 Lumix G2 lowered his price to $ 499. So that … considering my preferences and experiences, I prefer the advanced compact and if so, Canon G12 or Lumix LX5? or should I go ahead and get the micro four thirds Lumix g2?

The Canon G12 is a good option, as a compact camera. The video is more symbolic, no optical zoom in the video. The Panasonics take the lead there. With the Panasonic LX5 get a similar image quality to the Canon G12. The LX5 is smaller and has a wide variety, but less than telephoto. The G2 can take a step forward in image quality. Combined with 14-42mm kit lens is becoming more voluminous than the G12 and less telephoto. You can add a lens, but advantage of a compact digital SLR vs decreasing. If you are interested in this category, the Olympus E-PL2 worth a look.
