What are the green and red dots on a digital image?
I have a Nikon Coolpix S4. Recently I've noticed that all images taken without the flash (ie, a bit darker) have two points in them. In some tables, a point is green and the other is red (almost purple) in others, both are whitish. These two points are always in the same place and do not disappear by reducing the ISO settings. Could be dust on the lens (I cleaned several times …), the lens cover, scratch …? I'm out of ideas, apart from the idea that might need to buy a new camera. It is to clarify the points are appearing on my camera screen (hard to see if you are not looking for them) and also on my computer screen when transfer images to my computer. I know my computer monitor has no dead / stuck pixels (I had to double check after seeing the photos) therefore not limited to the camera.
Unless this is not on the images to print and only in the camera's LCD screen, it sounds like you have pixels stuck. What can happen to any camera as you get older, the sensor begins to wear out slowly. As this happens, some of the pixels decided to stop working. As it happens, sometimes I will have a particular color tone to it, sometimes not. You have two options here, you can send your camera for repair (which is an S4, I'm 90% sure that beyond the warranty unless you purchased an extended warranty from the place of purchase), or you can buy a new camera. You can also simply live with the dead or stuck pixels.
