Coolpix S51 Charger

I have a Nikon Coolpix S51 and need your help!?

I lost my charger and you can not find anywhere that sells them in my budget. I have read you can use the USB cable that comes with it if the battery is a lithium ion (as mine says the same) .. and still does not work! I try to deliver in the light and do nothing! Where I can buy a charger or inexpensive is there a trick to make USB work?
