Coolpix S630 Battery

I need a new Nikon digital camera?

I am looking for a new digital camera. I definitely want a Nikon, probably one of the series Coolpix S. Can anyone give me some information on cameras in this series? I want to know about photo quality, battery life, speed, etc. I'm looking at the S70, S570, S630 and S60. If you have any of these cameras or Nikon new, maybe you could help me. Thanks!

This is my wisdom usual about what camera to buy. It ends with a recommendation from Canon. You can just ignore that part, but I'm leaving there because it will give an idea the type of features being sought. Read through it, and apply what you learn, even if it is not really about any cameras you have mentioned: point and shoot cameras are wonderfully useful because of their small size. When lighting conditions are ideal, even taking pictures really nice – all of them do. However, all have their limitations – they do very well in low light situations (ie, photos, hard to avoid noisy blur, etc.). The little built-in flash is very hard at a short distance and not get very far. Many of them have no manual functions, so it is limited to only very basic images, you can not compensate for unusual situations, or do many fun "tricks" and special effects. P & S also have shutterlag frustrating and many of them chew through batteries fairly quickly. If you are ok with all the limitations, then go ahead and pick one, most of them (the same type and same price range) are quite similar. Personally I would choose either a Canon or Nikon one, and definitely stay away from Kodak. AP & S high-end gives you more manual options and better quality. Many who even give you the option of adding a proper flash (which makes a big difference in your flash photos). Do not worry too much about megapixels – all modern cameras have more than enough, plus there's a limit to the number of pixels that can crush a small sensor P & S before actually losing quality rather than win. Do not worry about digital zoom, in fact, never use it. Just pixels away crops, ie, destroy the information. Optical zoom is unique. Some words about the special effect functions such as an accent color, or even just b / w or sepia: About the application of any effect on the camera: DO NOT DO IT! Imagine if you just take the best photo ever taken – sure you will want to have in all its glory, right? Always set the camera to larger better quality (and color). This way, you start with the best picture possible for the original. Then make a copy and edit it to their hearts content. You has a much better control over any issue on your computer, even something as simple as b & w will look much better when processed correctly rather than the camera. You can do all sorts of things besides getting to keep your original. Decide what features are important to you, and look for cameras that have that feature. Then go compare some models www.dpreview.com. The best thing to do for your success is to borrow some books and learn about photography. A little knowledge will make a much greater difference to the photos of your choice from the camera can P & S. For what it's worth – if I were in the market for a P & S camera now, my choice would be Canon Powershot SX20 IS http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=144&modelid=19208
