How can you get more memory on COOLPIX S4000?
Okay so the coolpix s4000 has really bad memory. For example, 2 gb has only 258 pictures. My friend’s card has like 800. Another time, my friend bought a 4 gb memory card for his camera. On his it had like 1000 or 2000 pics i dont remember and on mine there were like 400. The type i use is lexar sd but as you can see from the 4gb story, that might not matter. Please help me ?
Choose a lower quality image setting.
Lower quality files are smaller so you can get more on the card.
The make makes no difference – only the size of the card and the size of the files.

At absolute best quality (12mp, extra fine) , you get 505 pictures on a 4GB card.
Still 12mp but with a standard quality you get 1010.
At the 8mp setting your card will take 1575
At a VGA setting (good enough for a picture on a web page but not much else) you can stuff 23000 images on that card.
There’s a table in the manual giving all the possible settings and the biggest print you can get from it (page 49).
