How I can get photos from my sd card for my laptop?

I have a Nikon Coolpix L4 and when you insert the SD card in my laptop is not listed, and Windows Vista and I have some ideas?

Have you tried going to "My Computer" and loads it not? If so, then I'm not sure why it does not work: (
