Nikon D40 vs D40x?

Hello, Here is my situation … I'm looking at these two models, but they have price limits and needs. I want 200 mm lens VR-55 along w / the camera kit, but do not want to pay much. I know it is 10MP D40x and the D40 is 6, but if I go w / the D40x I can not get the 55-200mm. What are your thoughts and Nikon comes out with something new soon? Thx.
