d70 compatible nikkor lens
D90 "quota" is displayed on the control panel?

I just got a second hand Nikkor AF 50mm f/1.8. I mounted both my D90 and D70, and focus not working and the automatic control panel shows "share" in the f-stop to display. What am I doing wrong or is the lens is not compatible with a DSLR Nikon digital? well, so setting f/22 yielded some results, but the blockage of the opening does not appear to participate, or to lock in its locked position. Lens works fine on my D70 … AF, closing … but in my D90, it stops to f/22 and not focus! Any ideas?

The lens has a aperture ring. Not many new lenses. For the body is able to control aperture to be set for more small aperture, f/22. White point line with the 22 then slide the little orange dot on it to the line with the orange mark next to it. This locks the aperture ring. Now dial in camera body aperture control ring instead of the lens. Hope that helps and happy shooting.
