Is this Nikon digital camera good?

I go to India for a month and will take a lot of pictures so I was wondering, this camera has a really good picture quality, and if it is even good in general? It is a decent camera. 8MP is more than enough for casual shooting. If you will not print your photos you would be best to shoot at 5MP have more images on the SD card. What I like this model is that it uses AA batteries. You can easily find everywehere but remember to use at least alkaline. Ideally Lithiums Energizer rechargeable but if you prefer, get those with high mAh ratings for power and durable. As I do not like about it is that is a Nikon. Nikon dSLR great, no doubt. Is that I think their cameras PNS lack the right feel to it. I would have preferred one of Canon, Sony Panasonic Lumix or (if a Leica lens) but well, I'm just a Pentaxian.
