My Nikon D200 will not autofocus! I have a 55-200mm lens Nikon AF but not with him!?
I broke a 18-55mm lens that is used for autofocus. You can not get the 55-200mm lens AF though! Any suggestions? I tried to clean the lens as well. I'll update firmware soon … but I have high doubts that this is the problem. Any help guys? I reallllly do not want to take it into the store …
There are some things you can check. The most obvious is to ensure that the AF switch on the glass and body are an appropriate value. Next examine the electrical contacts in the mount and the base of the lens to ensure there is no dirt or corrosion. Finally simply disconnect and reconnect the lens of a couple of times to make sure everything is connecting with the right. If the camera still refuses to autofocus, then unfortunately the engine either the lens or AF sensor in the body is most likely broken and must be repaired.
