Why is a bad time when I take a photo with my Nikon Coolpix L18 ..?

I set the correct time zone since I live in Michigan and is the ET (EDT) time zone … but every time you take a photograph that time will say otherwise, as I take a photo to 20:21 and the camera will record at 8:21 a.m. …. How I can fix this?

Reset time. Go to the menu, then go forward or back 12 hours to match the correct time and date. The manual will tell you how.
