What lens should I go?

Now I have it to the AF-S DX nikkor 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR http://www.nikon.com.au/productitem.php?pid=1282-150d0ae5b3 or the AF DX Fisheye 10.5mm f/2.8G ED http://www.nikon.com.au/productitem.php?pid=72-960ba412c9 my purpose is mainly photography and events skate night, as parties etc. So if anyone has experience with this, please let me know. It will also welcome any suggestions. my camera is Nikon D3100 and I prefer the autofocus. thanks! * Edit also so this AF-S DX NIKKOR 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR http://www.nikon.com.au/productitem.php?pid=1218-a6b9250679

Well, it really depends on you taking pictures for more. I would like to get away from the eye of fish unless to be taking pictures of skating ALL the time, because that's really all that is good for. They are used to exaggerate perspective and improve the look of a skate trick closely. They are also useful for all the accessory in a video which is following on a skateboard, trust me, it is very difficult to keep a close in the skater video without a fisheye. (No ransom) So, assuming you're photographing people at these events and parties and do not want to distort, I would suggest using a fixed focal length lens. There are many advantages of using what is called a primary objective. Much of its appeal due to the lower glass inside the lens. There are many elements inside a zoom lens that allows zooming, certain sacrifices have to do to get these zoom lenses. I recommend you read this. http://www.digital-photography-school.com/prime-vs-zoom-lenses-which-are-best Another thing for you to think;) In my opinion the best lens to go after your kit lens 50mm would be a first. The reason for this being, forcing you to learn using the camera by removing the ability to zoom, which should be forced to discover the techniques of composition. Almost inevitably rely on the kit zoom standard for composing the image for you, not good. Second, they are fast! their openings are larger and produce nice bokeh! (Out of focus) This will be important for you, because you want to shoot events, the flash is not always the best option, especially in the sweaty faces. With the first you will be able to shoot very low light with relative ease. Do not distort as much as zooms. This is open to debate, but usually a major problem will be less than a zoom. Depending on what compares two lenses. Anyway, check out this http://www.nikon.com.au/productitem.php?pid=1310-8934b9b612 35mm F1.8 and buy 30 pounds or so semi fisheye lens Fixing skating. You may get better results if you use the attachment in the kit lens. For what you want I suggest that the lenses you have chosen the fisheye bar (which was excluded for other reasons) are not fast enough. since you've described you need a fast lens (sport), and conditions low light. By the way, if you want to see what other people have done with these lenses can search for groups on flickr and working examples of people using them. http://www.flickr.com/groups/afsnikkor35mm18/ here's one for the first suggested. Good luck!
