AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D vs?
Are they more or less the same with the exception of the "silent" focuses on AF-S and aperture is not the G? Why ring one pays $ 160 more for the AF-S 50mm f/1.4G against other information:? additional body D300 current lens I have is 18-200 mm VR, looking for something with a larger aperture for shooting in low light so you can increase shutter speed to capture motion, also looking to take photos with a much shallower depth of field.
I do not use Nikon equipment, so please investigate further before take my answer as written in stone. – The AF S has built in focus motor to be used in organs without the autofocus motor, (That is, the D40 and D60). Your D300 has a focus motor in the body and does not need the AF-S. Save money and get the "normal" AF. Again … Please double check to be certain I'm right on this. steve
