Nikon D90 – manual focus lens / teleconverter?
I have taken many photos of a friend on his motor bike racing (on the track) with a Nikkor 80-200mm. While this is a great lens I think you really need something a little more. Due to budgetary constraints, although this is a bit difficult. However, I found a manual focus lens (500 mm) at a reasonable cost price, while a 2x teleconverter would give me about 400 mm. Would it be better to get the focus lens manual or Tele? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Hello! fhotoace, I'm on the right track (that are racing fans and I know that some people appropriate!) Do you have any advice on panning with manual focus? I click OK with autofocus, but the panoramic imaging not I can with manual would be easy ……
Note that a manual focus lens not only meter with the D90. This means that the only way you can use is "M". And even in M have no idea if your exposure is correct, because the meter is disabled. This is because the camera has no way of knowing the adjustment iris lens, due to the lack of electronic links to the target. Essentially, this means that we do a lot of guesswork with the exhibition or have to use a separate light meter to do the job for you. 2x Teleconverters are not recommended in general because they provide lower quality than similar 1.4x converters. Also darken the image by 2 points, unless the 80-200 is f/2.8, this means that the viewfinder is too dark for the camera to autofocus. So in my opinion, get the converter and use your 80-200mm lens. The 500mm can be brighter, but was left with manual focus and a light useless. Displacement meters with manual focus is not difficult at all. Unless that shooting sports are very irregular, like skateboarding, BMX, basketball, and such a problem, you should have little.
