i have a nikon d90 with kit lens 18-105mm and a 50mm f/1.8. please help me decide on which lens i should take and kindly provide a reason why.
i’m trying to decide between a…35mm f/1.8 or a 14mm f/2.8
i’m interested in shooting interiors and people…i like close to mid range focus…if that helps.

thanks. =)
I have a D90 with the kit lens (18-105mm) and Nikon 35mm f/1.8 is an awesome lens, however it does not give me great low light capability. This lens allows me to do just that. It is small, and the price is right, so I went ahead and got it. I have compared this to shots made in the same lighting conditions with the other lens I have, and the pictures with this are so much better, and have a much better white balance. It may not have VR, but it is almost 3 stops faster at 35mm, so your shutter speed will be cut by a factor of more than 6, so it makes your 1/2 second shot to a 1/12 of a second. The AF is fast and spot on. Lens is very sharp, even at ISO 800 on the D90. I was thinking of the 50mm 1.8 instead, but I have talked to others who say that they want a wider one as the 50mm is equal to a 75mm on the DX format. The manual focus override is a great feature, love not having to take my eye out of the viewfinder to adjust the focus. The DOF at 1.8 is small, but can be used as a great creative element in your photographs.
