What lens is best for my situation? Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro vs. Nikon telephoto zoom 55m?
Hi, I'm just a fan collecting photography. I'll take plenty of pictures of my club next year and wondering what lens would be good for what you plan to take. A large amount Outdoor active movement, the general picture of people posing for the camera, indoor activities in bright rooms, the general picture events. Almost all good versatile lens. I have reduced to (I read this type of lenses are good for the movement, such as sporting events) – Nikon 55mm – 200mm f/4-5.6G ED-IF AF-S DX VR – Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro telephoto zoom for considering my lack of knowledge for the lenses, which would be a better match for my needs? I have read comments and I'm kind of swaying to the nikkor 55-200, because it's just more tolerant, given the VR .. Thanks! Thanks for the tip!
VR is super important when you are running around shooting everything. With the list of the things he said I would be inclined torwards the 55-200mm. You need the 55 for indoor activities in rooms lighted, and 200 for the outdoors. And virtual reality is a big plus for the 300 would give a little more reach, but without VR need super great lighting. I think Nikon has a 75-300mm VR? that can meet your needs better: additional. consideration of indoor activities, you may have a real fast lens, because it is inside. Unless you have a light source as large as the sun there, you will not have good lighting. So might I suggest a fast 50mm for indoors.
