Hey guys / gals, now I have a Nikon D40 and my lens is Nikkor 70-300mm lens without a focus automatic, while the zoom is great … you have no idea how many images have to be eliminated because they are simply out of focus! My question to u is, you know you if these two goals are good? and autofocus will work with my D40??, and what is the main difference between them: Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG Macro Telephoto Nikon SLR zoom Price: $ 99.95 and Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro telephoto zoom for Nikon SLR Price: $ 170 What is the APO?? lol and what a price high because of it?? – Is it necessary? None of these lenses autofocus on your D40. For Sigma glass, you will have to raise to its luxury line of HSM. Or, if you want Nikon AF, you have the AF-S marked. That's why we tell people to stay away from the D40 and D40x – are requiring expensive cheap cameras lenses. AOP apochromatic – is supposed to correct the inaccuracies of colors in a lens. A much better indication of the quality of the target is a maximum aperture – Lenses are generally fast professional lenses. Hope this helps.
