What would you recommend Nikkor lens for the light under the best shots.?
Zoom doesn't really matter. 18-55mm is fine. But assuming I am the minimum necessary to stop f. I have to take pictures of our church service, but really I can not use flash. So we need a good lens low light. Looking to spend 500 to 750 dollars if I have too. Thanks in advance What do you think of this lens for this type of application. For your budget, this is probably a very good choice. The biggest advantage is that it has an opening maximum of f/2.8 throughout the zoom range. Its maximum aperture is 18 to 55 to 18 mm f / 3.5, but 5.6 to 55 mm, so I suspect that you would like to use a lot. It is two full stops "slower" than the goal you are watching and will make a difference in the low light performance. It is not the newest design, but – Again – its budget is a good idea. As option, I thought the 70-200VR, but is about 2 to 3 times your budget and I fear that perhaps the wind too long to use within a church to capture the whole stage. I'm betting that the sample shown is 55 mm longer.
