Nikon Mount Question?
I currently own a Nikon D60 and have a question mount the lens. I was told at the local camera shop that could only buy nikkor af-s lenses, but I wonder how I can use a Sigma or Tamron lens brand, and if so what codes I have to look after objective description that fits my horse? The reason I want to know is, the Nikkor Macro lenses compared to the Tamron and Sigma are atrociously expensive. Thanks in advance!
Your local camera shop is trying to say AF-S lens only autofocus camera. Older-D no autofocus lens se. Yes, you can use Sigma and Tamron lenses, if the lens has its own engine integrated approach. Do not think there is no code to indicate whether you have built in motor. Usually mention something like "XXX Tamron lens. Nikon F mount (with built in focusing motor / compatible with Nikon D40/60). You just have to ask the clerk "Is the autofocus on my Nikon D60?" should understand what you are trying to do.
