what is the best all around lens for my Nikon DSLR d3100?

I've been looking for opinions on the web and senses the Nikkor 18-200, but too expensive the tamron 18-270 seems competitive, according to tests. Is there "a" lens out there that I can use as a jack-of-all-trades? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

At B & H – http://www.bhphotovideo.com – the AF-S Nikkor 18-200mm f3.5-5.6G ED VR II is $ 849.95 and is the Tamron AF 18-270mm f3.5-6.3 Di II VC lens PZD $ 649.00. The Nikon lens is worth an extra $ 200.00 in my opinion. In fact, there is no objective can be considered a "man band", as the remainder of that old saying is "master of none." The 18-200 is a good general purpose "Walking" lens, but there are situations that do not fit. With a maximum aperture of f3.5 at 18mm is not a good choice for indoor available light photography. For this you need a fast lens like the first Nikon AF-S 35mm f1.8. Despite the 18-200mm lens can focus close to your subject, not a macro lens. Nor is the Tamron 18-270mm lens, although it is used "macro" in their description. Both objectives have a reproduction ratio of 1:4, which is 1 / 4 natural size. A true macro lens will give you a 1:1 reproduction ratio that is sized natural. Photograph an ant than 10 mm long with any of the zoom lens and the ant is 2.5 mm long in its sensor. Use a macro lens and the ant will 10 mm long in its sensor. Spend the extra $ 200.00 and buy the Nikon 18-200mm zoom. You will never regret.

i regreted on the nikon 18-200. crappy compromise lens..the 200mm is fake…is actual focal max is 150mm. don’t believe me? go test it out with other brand lenses 200mm range.
