What SLR should I get?
D60 Kit AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED II Lens $ 539.95 (MSRP) http://www.nikon.ca/en/Product.aspx?m=17060&disp=Overview or Canon EOS Rebel XS 18-55 IS Kit $ 527.83 http://www.walmart.ca/wms/microsite/Canon/index.jsp?type=slr is my first SLR and I want the best quality but not too expensive. the brand is more reliable and has better features and better overall camera: thank you) if I am to order online, I live in Canada, so do not want a million dollars is shipping
The best way to find out is to go to a camera store and hold in their hands. Play around with them. Choose the one that feels better and has controls that make sense to you. Both cameras are excellent and have more or less the same characteristics. The Canon has Live View LCD screen, while the Nikon does not. Apart from that there is very little difference. Live View is also very important in my opinion. It's good when mounted on a tripod but otherwise is not helpful. Both Canon and Nikon make excellent cameras and lenses so you can not go wrong with good.
