It really depends on what you want to do with it. what kind of photos or photo effects are you trying to get? Fisheye lenses are fun but only produce a very specific type of image. Wide angles lens (really wide ones, like a 25 mm) will give a similar distorted effect but not as dramatic. long lenses (300 mm) will make images look compressed, and so on. Or if you mean distorting image effects, try using filters on your regular photos in adobe photoshop.
