Nikkor 16-85 VR?
Has anyone used this lens or have you had any experience with it? I am thinking of buying it for my d80, but there is nothing good online really comment yet. How is the image quality. How does it compare to similar glass lenses like the 18-70? It seems a bit expensive note that as a general rule, lenses with a smaller zoom range tend to perform better than a super zoom like the 18-200 VR because of the complexity of designs more super zoom. Photozone Based on its review, it appears that the lens is a very strong, perhaps the sharpest Nikon DX Zoom yet – and range, the 18-200 VR seems to be the best value – but in terms of image quality, VR 16-85 win, but that does not appear on all prints. But if you're looking for an alternative to the Nikon 17-55 mm f/2.8, for example, perhaps something like the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 (under $ 500) would be a better option.
