Tamron lenses makes quality. I have used Tamron lenses and they performed well for me. Check out the customer feedback both B & H Photo and the Amazon website (see links below). I would think that the quality is good with both, I weighed the cost difference of an additional 20 mm telephoto and weight and size of the lens. Hope this helps. Mark
