Nikon D60 Lens equevently to ….?
I have a 12x optical zoom at this time … and I want the camera is a Nikon D60 and comes with a standard lens … AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR (Vibration Reduction) lens image stabilization … What is that equevalent optical zoom? Dice 35mm-420mm??
The zoom factor is simply the longer focal length divided by the smallest. Thus, a 18-55 would be about 3.05x. But So do not tell the whole story. Because after all, a 55-200mm zoom has a relationship only slightly longer (3.6), but covers a range completely different. In a context of digital culture as the D60, about 28-30mm would be "normal." That is to produce a similar approach to what our eyes perceive. Below that is great angle above is telephoto. Thus, the 18-55mm gives you a moderate range in each. Now there's a zoom lens that can approach what the compact does. Such as 18-200 (11.1x). Although there are commitments to meet these long. They are not as strong, have low (narrow) maximum apertures, and are very heavy. So unless you really must have only a goal to do everything, a set of lenses usually get better results (at the technical level at least). — Additional: In terms equivalent 35 mm, 18-55mm would be about 27-82.5mm. The trick is to multiply by 1.5 times in Nikon. (The above uses 1.6 person x, but this is only accurate for fees.)
