Can someone explain what the numbers all in one lens is?
Im only 13 and a child and I have a Nikon camera D70 with a Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 18-55 mm 1:3.5-5.6 G (among other objectives) and do not know exactly what all the numbers mean and what needs to be open with so its perfect and the shutter speed. I know there is something that should be twice the number of something else, but I do not know why. So thank you if I can help! Photographs are very rude. Was about $ 200 and has a digital camera but my dad thought I should have a Nikon supports this company and says it is very good. And I know some of this.
I have to do this ….. Why the hell did you get a DSLR without first knowing at least a little about photography? The numbers represent the 18-55mm focal length lens. a zoom of 18mm to 55mm 3.5 to 5.6 is the more open the lens to be able to use in each end of the focal length. ie, 18 mm that opens at 3.5 and expanded to 55 mm is only 5.6 There is no perfect aperture / shutter combination – it depends entirely on the situation at that time. Since you have the camera, now I suggest you read the manual and buy (or get dad to buy) a book on basic photography or money spent on the camera will be totally useless.
