Have you experienced photographers advise me on what types of wide-angle lens should I buy for Nikon F80?
I have a Nikon 35 mm N/F80 movie camera. I am looking for a cheap (price) wide angle preferably about 18 to 20 mm. The thing is, the F80 is so old many years (the model) that I am having trouble finding tables with the new version compatible lenses. Not that I can find anything under $ 400 anyway = (what types lens would be good? I have been told that Nikkor lenses. But then someone mentioned Sigma, but I've seen some of its wide viewing angles and had bad reviews. That would be making the landscape and general photography.
Well, it seems you've done work for what you already know about the lenses. Short answer: for full functionality you need Nikon F-mount lenses that are marked AF or AF-S DX but do not have any part of the name (DX is for digital cameras with smaller sensor cameras, which not cover the entire frame at wide angle for you). long (longer) answer is here: Brand http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/compatibility-lens.htm wise – Nikkor is the best, and yes Sigma, Tamron quality are generally much poorer (though they do work, if you must have a wide angle for cheap). Tokina is a bit better, but then also cost more (granted, not as Nikkor, in some cases). All in all – $ 400 whether and to what does not suit you well, I'm afraid your only option glass is to look on eBay or Craigs List, or AI lenses (Get more details on those links above), you have to use strictly manual mode, and if I understood well what it means both the approach and the measurement manually, not through the lens. You can cheat it and add a different purpose, meter, record the values and then use them with greater attachment lenses. LEM.
