Debate between Nikon 60mm f/2.8D AF Micro-Nikkor 50mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro and Sigma?
I'm fairly new to photography and I realized that I like to take first flat images (flowers, etc..) I would buy a macro lens and wanted some advice between the two options I am considering? Nikon 60mm f/2.8D AF Micro-Nikkor http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-60mm-Micro-Nikkor- = sr_1_3? ie = UTF8 & s = electronics & qid = 1255766477 Digital-Cameras/dp/B00005LE77/ref & sr = 8-3 Sigma 50mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro Lens http://www.amazon.com/Sigma-50mm-Macro-Nikon-Cameras/dp/B0002P19Q2/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1255766724&sr=1-3 It seems to be quite a big price difference and was wondering if the quality is really much better for Nikkor to justify this difference and if so, what way? Thanks for your help!
At B & H (http://www.bhphotovideo.com) there is a price difference between $ 60.00 and Nikon 60mm macro Sigma 50mm macro. @ $ 479.95 Nikon, Sigma @ $ 419.00. For the Nikon wins $ 60.00. Another macro lens to consider is the Tamron 90mm macro at $ 459.95. It as the greatest possible working distance of bees and wasps that provides the focal length of 90mm. I could not find a price for the 105mm macro lens from Nikon. Sigma has a 105mm macro at $ 479.00 (B & H). Although testing can be useful lens, there are often overlooked traits during the tests. Nikon lens may have internal baffling best to reduce / eliminate flare when shooting backlit subjects. You will find that Nikon build quality is much higher than most lenses after market, which means a longer life for the Nikon. My vote is for the Nikon.
