How can I make the picture clear while the background blur with a Nikon D50???
I just got a Nikon D50 and I wonder how I can do that the clear image, while the background blurred. Anyone know?
You need to use as the widest possible opening. The "depth of field (the range of distances that are in focus) is the smallest in the widest opening. With the standard lens, you do not have a very large range, though, so that can not make a big difference. F3.5 is not very wide. If you approach a subject, the difference between the distance to subject and background will be larger, so this is exaggerated the difference in approach. Ken Rockwell has a good site that explains a lot of things to photograph in detail and is a long time Nikon user, including the D50.
