nikon bdc reticle scope

Has anyone used the Nikon Omega BDC scope of the grid, if so how did it work?

My brother-in-law must set-up and loves it. He says it is almost as accurate as a standard centerfire rifle at 200 yards with compensation. My plan is to go out with him in the near future to shoot some pigeons Clay bets and see how it really is impressive.
