How likely is what I get for my .17 HMR?
Hey guys, I'm in the market to buy a scope for my Mossberg 817. I looking to spend around $ 200, but am willing to get better as high as about $ 300, if I'm really going to get something worth buying. This weapon will be used for hunting less and shooting around 50-250 meters. This is what I've been looking at: Burris Fullfield II 3-9×40 W / ballistic complex Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9×40 W / DOA grid Nikon Team Primos 3-9×40 w / BDC reticle Nikon Buckmaster 3-9×40 W / BDC Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14×40 w / BDC Any comments on these areas would be really appreciated because damn this is a hard decision. I like the idea of a grid with a distance of several points. Any suggestions besides these areas? I am looking for a quality, durable piece of equipment in the range of $ 200-300. That means … no thanks lol BSA.
the 4.5-14×40 is a little big and is not only necessary, any 3×9 is probbaly will be the most you have to go. I use a 3×9 on my .17 HMR and my Mach2 which are the best size. Nikon makes good things that you never go wrong with them, but better than you have listed is probably the prime fullfield Burris and Nikon equipment, some of these areas really are, never fails in the 17 HMR is simply no passing shock the scope unless you drop … hey what happens. It would be better if you went to a store and looked through some of these areas first hand then you can decide for itself, Nikon has always been my first choice in the fields of really good quality only.
