Nikon Coolpix s3000 – how do i upload pictures/movies to computer?

I am trying to upload my pictures and movies from my camera to my laptop, i have the Power AC Charger and adapter, do i need something different because when i use the AC Adapter from my comp to the camera, my comp doesnt recognize it as anything, ARGG PLZ HELP!!!

You need to remove the USB cable from the charger/plug . Then plug the USB into the laptop
