Photography/ camera HELP!?!?
I am looking to buy a camera. Not one of the cheap ones like the normal digital cameras. Like the larger/still digital but has a zoom lens and a focus lens on it. What would be a good camera? I hear Nikon’s are good. My budget is $1,500 for it. Also are there short classes available for 15-16 yr olds on photography and angles and lighting. I am planning on taking one of these classes. Taking some GREAT photos to put in a portfolio and apply as a Carnival Cruise Photographer. They take pics of ports, the ship, families, guest speakers, parties, portraits, and on ship photos(dinning room, spas, exc…) for brochures. If Im not mistaken. Any help would be GREAT guys! Thanx!
I was planning on getting a nikon d3000 Black 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera! Is this a good camera for nature shots/portraits/exc..
The Nikon D3000 is an excellent entry level dSLR camera.
You can put any of the nikkor af-s lenses on it and as your skills improve, shoot some amazing images.
The 18-55 mm lens is just fine for learning. It covers enough to produce some nice landscape shots and group shots of your friends as well as allow you to shoot head and shoulder portraits of your family and friends.
As you get better at controlling the camera, you will probably want do buy a second lens.
Here is a list of the most popular lenses someone new to photography may buy over the next few years.
* Super wide angle used when shooting building interiors and amazing landscapes. — AF-S 10-24 mm zoom
* Medium to telephoto lens used when shooting sports, action or some wild life … AF-S 55-200 mm or AF-S 70-300 mm
* Portrait lens — AF-S 50 mm f1.4
* Macro lens for shooting closeups — AF-S 60 mm f2.8
These lenses should keep you busy and a little poorer over the next few years.
