Camera 500D – the best technology for the money!
I consider myself an above average amateur, and I want to share why I decided to buy the 500D camera. I know the concept of white balance, aperture, shutter, and measurement and I have experimented with them in my Point & Shoot Camera (Canon G2).
My budget is in the range of $ 800 – $ 1000, and reduced my selection the Canon 500D camera, D5000/d90 nikon, and Pentax K20D. I was not worried too much about who has the best image quality. I felt that the 4 cameras (should) give excellent results for most cases.
I am a great fan of technology, and am willing to spend money to receive the latest technologies (well.. as long as it is within my budget). I mean, if I only want good picture quality, I prefer Canon XSi or Nikon D40/D60.
I based my decision comments and views on professional users, dpreview.com and the like.
Pentax K20D body is sealed and the stabilization time in the body of the image, but it does not have to have features for me. It is reported that slow focus, thereby breaking the agreement.
Nikon D5000 has the same CMOS sensor as the D90, which DxOMark has better (better dynamic range, better low light ISO) Canon 50D sensor, the same as Canon target = "_self" title = "Canon EOS 500D "> Camera 500D. But 2.7-inch/230-kpixel LCD only, not to mention 0.78x magnification viewfinder (compared to 500D Camera 0.87).
dSLR buyers beware: they just do not use LCD's approach is too slow. D5000 swivel LCD is a difficult task for me.
Nikon D90 has better sensor, and the viewfinder pentaprism. You can capture more images per second (4.5 vs. 3.4 500D camera). It also has more area AF (11 vs House 500D 9). I especially for a single point of focus and more focus points is not so useful for me. I have planned to experiment with RAW capture, Nikon and extra charges for your RAW converter software (NX2 $ 180 MSRP).
For $ 799 (body only), I think the 500D camera gives the best and latest technology dSLR for the money:
Kpixel 920-3-inch LCD, fast focusing, free software RAW converter, the last DIGIC4, HDMI. 1080p/720p video is a bonus.
I'm not too crazy for 15-Mpix, but now when I take photos, do not get too excited about zooming in on my subject, knowing you can crop the image later.
Again, all 4 cameras take great pictures. It is the account with the poor quality of the image that sold me on the 500D camera.
Be prepared to have a steep learning curve
in white-balance/metering/ISO etc. Do not expect a $ 900 dSLR to give excellent image every time in full-auto.
Will learning to use it. Oh, and get the $ 100 50mm f/1.8 lens, not regret.
