Apple QuickTake

History
In 1992, Apple Computer began marketing plans called QuickTake digital camera, code-named Venus. At the time more than $ 12 billion spent annually in the United States in the picture. Apple wanted a company to design and manufacture its line QuickTake digital camera. It should be noted as a fact that Kodak had already been selling its own branded version of this camera, made in Japan by Chinon Industries, for more an event [year need].
The QuickTake 100 was launched in 1994 as an easy to use digital camera that connects to any Macintosh computer via a cable Apple serial. The camera can store eight pictures at a resolution of 640×480, 32 photos at a resolution of 320×240, or a mixture of both sizes. All pictures were 24-bit color. The camera had a flash, but not the focus or zoom controls. The kit includes a QuickTake 150 separate zoom lens that allowed focus on approximately 30 cm. With the exception of downloading pictures to a computer, there was no way for viewing on the camera, or was no way to delete photos individual camera (although it was a recessed button 'trash' to delete the entire contents of the camera). It was one of the first digital cameras that have been aimed at consumers to be released.
Apple released a kit for Microsoft Windows connection with the QuickTake 150 in 1995. The latest model in Fujifilm QuickTake was built QuickTake 200, published in 1996. The 200 adds the focus and aperture controls, as well as the ability to store images on removable memory card SmartMedia flashRAM.
QuickTake different models did not sell very well, as other companies such as Kodak (already on the market before Apple), Fujifilm, Canon, Nikon and entered the digital market with brands that consumers associate with photography. They were discontinued in 1997 shortly after Steve Jobs came back to Apple. In an attempt to streamline the operations of Apple, Jobs suspended many computer products, including the Newton product line, the LaserWriter printer line and the QuickTake cameras. The Apple QuickTake camera has become a collector's item for fans of Apple.

Using QuickTake
The QuickTake 200 can be used with card readers can read the media 5V cards. For users with an Apple Macintosh with System 7 through Mac OS 9 with a serial port, the QuickTake 200 can be connected directly to computer with the Apple QuickTake camera software. The QuickTake 100 and 150 inmates not to store the images on the cards, so you must use a serial cable Apple QuickTake driver software. QuickTake cameras can not connect directly to a Macintosh with Mac OS X, both because these machines are not compatible with the old Serial Protocol and because Apple QuickTake cameras use a single codec for compression and decompression has not been ported to modern versions of QuickTime.
