I formatted my new memory card for Nikon Coolpix 5700. Now, when camera that says "no memory"
It's a new 4GB card. What I can do about it? Help! Ok I did what Anthony said to do, the group 32. And now, when I got back on the camera format it again makes me …. leaving the message on my camera "out of memory" again. I had no FAT16 so I had to go to the FAT with 32K 64K …….. was saying it was great. I tried this a couple of times with each time a message on my camera "out of memory" Anything else I can try? Thanks for your help people and Anthony!
Two options: 1) formatted as FAT only 2 GB will be available 2) with a bit of fiddling, you can force a computer to format a 4 GB card for that * might * be available. You need to put the memory card into a card reader: – Click on My Computer on your XP computer and select Manage. – Double-click Management records. This will show all the hard drives and partitions. Be careful to choose the correct drive. Choose the wrong format the wrong disk. Now, when you choose format, you are presented with options. I think that 4 GB will have to FAT or FAT16 and a cluster size of 64 KB. Once you're done, test it on your camera. If works, the camera recognizes a cluster size of 64 KB. If it does not have to format the card 32K groups, which will only access 2 GB. Note care and use at your own risk. Last option: the exchange of letters for two cards of 2 GB.
