Is the Nikon D60 a good choice for my digital SLR camera for the first time? If not, what would you recommend?
I just got a Nikon D60 with kit-55mm VR 18 / 55-200mm VR and SB-600 Flash also came with the bag. It also has a 2-year plan of insurance covering almost any accidental damage. I spent $ 1,480 for everything, including some filters and SD cards and Tax. I did much research before buying, but I'm still paranoid if I made a good choice or not. I mainly want a camera that I can learn everything you need to know about SLR cameras and still take good quality photos to display. I mainly use to take pictures of paintball. Will I be able to freeze the movement as an ordinary person and sliding or diving and still capture details with the D60? This is my first digital SLR camera and I just want something to learn and grow out of and still be able to take great photos, I know there are better cameras than the D60, but This level is all im looking for i also have everything I need. I can still return it so any input u can have is much appreciated. Will I be disappointed with the D60?
I do not think so. I have the D40x, which shares many features with the D60. I am very happy with it. It is possible that at some point you want invest in a wide angle lens for paintball, one with vibration reduction, but, before simply experiment with the settings that work best for you. I've done sports photos great with my D40.
