What should camera should I get? Nikon d5000 or…?
Hey Guys, so for my 14th birthday next month. I’m probably getting a new camera.
I’ve been looking at 2 cameras.
Should I get, the nikon d3000 or the Canon Rebel xsi or xs?
What I want, is the best for my price. For the best…
Picture Quality, Weight, Noise, price, etc etc. Can you compare them? That’d be great. Thanks.

Well they are all quality cameras but you should go to your local store and hold them in your hand. Grip can be an important thing. Also do some messing around with them. Navigate the menu’s and see if you like the layout. You’ll want to figure out how to change ISO, shutter speed, aperture etc. Personally of the camera’s you listed I would go with the D3000 for my own personal taste but they do sometimes take criticism for having poorly laid out menu’s… but again thats a personal thing.
If your concerned about wight Sony is the best choice in entry level DSLR’s
Noise at high ISO’s I would go with the Nikon.
Both are nice cameras but as I said I’d check them out in person… because no matter what you go with… Canon or Nikon you will be “stuck” with that brand because of the money you will put into lenses over the years.

At flickr you can see tons of shots taken with each camera by other people like you. You can even message them and ask them directly how they like their camera and why.
I personally shoot with the Sony A330 and love it.
