The D80 makes the same pictures as the D40X.
It autofocuses with all Nikon AF lenses; the others don’t.
It has a top info screen; the others don’t.
It has autobracketing; the others don’t.
It’s bigger and more comfortable to hold.
Where I live it costs about $100 more than the D60, which is the replacement for the D40X, and about $400 more than the D40, all without lenses.
